Prompt set builder: the exact questions to ask the engines about your category

Why these fifteen and not any others?
Because the shape of the question decides whether an engine cites anyone at all. Listicle-shaped answers account for 21.88% of AI citations — far more than any other format — which is why five of the fifteen are discovery prompts. Comparison answers are only 2.2% of citations but carry the highest intent of anything a buyer types. Alternative queries are 0.29%, which sounds like nothing until you notice almost nobody has written the page.
The problem-first prompts are the ones most founders never think to run. A buyer who does not yet know that “appointment booking plugin” is a category types the job instead. If you are absent there, you are absent before the comparison ever happens.
Do I need to run it more than once?
Yes. The engines are not deterministic — the same prompt on the same day can name different products. One run is an anecdote. Two runs a fortnight apart, recorded properly, is a baseline you can measure against. That is the difference between the free version of this and what I do in an audit: I run it four times across four engines and keep the raw log.
What do I do with the answers?
Two numbers matter. Your share of voice — answers that name you, over total answers. And the citation-source map — which URLs the engines pulled from. The second is usually the surprise: most citations do not come from the vendor’s own site. They come from listicles, forum threads and review pages written by other people, which is why off-site placement is half the work.
This runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is transmitted, stored or logged — there is no server behind this page and no analytics on the fields.
